Residents see Kibblesworth’s £14m future.
Residents from a south Gateshead village recently had the chance to find out more about £14m of ongoing developments in their area.
Two drop-in sessions for people living in Kibblesworth were held at the village’s Millennium Centre to update residents on the regeneration of the estate.
Over 300 residents had the chance to view plans of future building works in the village, which recently saw the completion of the first of nearly 150 new family homes and bungalows.
Residents at the event also met their onsite team, viewed samples of new kitchen and bathrooms and gave their views on what sort of play, art and open spaces they would like to see in the area.
Thirteen homes will also be offered for ‘intermediate rent’ – a unique and flexible way for first-time buyers to get on the housing ladder.
The Gateshead Housing Company’s Chief Executive, Bill Fullen, said: “We have already made improvements to thousands of homes through our Decent Homes programme.
“We are now literally building on our previous success, through this scheme to bring new affordable homes to Gateshead for generations to come.
“It was good to see so many local families come along to the sessions to see our plans for future building and also have any queries they had answered by the team.”
